When Lula Wolfendale’s motorcycle breaks down on her way to a Harley rally, she detours into tiny Shoshone, CA to find a new ride.  Seducing bikers Beau and Rob Hogue and commandeering their Harleys is easy; finding sexual satisfaction is a “hog” of a different color.  A Blue Phantom, to be exact, owned by the pair’s older brother, Jesse.  After brief, unsatisfying encounters with the first two Hogues, Lula approaches Jesse with a proposition:  a sexual contest for his Phantom, where Lula will emerge with either a bike to die for or the climax of her dreams.  Or can she possibly obtain both?

My three hot sentences for today are from Lula’s encounter with Beau’s brother, Rob Hogue.  She kind of takes control a lot. 🙂

Three quick steps and she pressed against him, her tongue darting out to lick the hard nubbin of a male nipple.

He clamped her shoulders, eyes closed, steadying himself before he choked out, “You play hard, darlin.’”

She ran her hand the length of his thick erection, like a cannon stuffed down his jeans and purred, “So do you.”

Interview Today with Grace Elliot and Hope’s Betrayal

2fc242d5ad8d0ad8976fc6.L._V147549248_SX200_

Tell us a little bit about your release.

“Hope’s Betrayal” is a historical romance set against the background of smuggling on the south coast of England. Captain George Huntley is a man of honor, governed by his duty to King and country. He has been assigned to stamp out a notorious smuggling ring, but when he captures one of their number and discovers ‘he’ is actually a ‘she’, Hope Tyler, his troubles are only just beginning.
When Hope and Huntley fall in love, theirs is a difficult destiny to follow, since love on opposite sides of the law means either court-marshal or Hope betraying her family.

What was your inspiration for this story?

The idea for “Hope’s Betrayal” came from seeing a cottage on the Isle of Wight, where in the 18th century, a smuggler’s daughter lived. Local folk lore had it that this young woman was so beautiful, that when she was caught red-handed on a smuggling run, the officer couldn’t bring himself to arrest her.

This set me thinking about how a woman might use her looks to evade justice, and this led onto to wondering about the price to be paid, when people on opposite sides of the law fell in love.

I am a fanatic about my character names. Are the character names special in any way?

I’m like you and think character names are incredibly important. Indeed, it is the name that defines the character and I don’t start thinking about the plot until I have a firm idea of the characters involved.

In the case of “Hope’s Betrayal”, the hero Captain George Huntley, needed to have a solid, dependable name. His surname was already decided (book two in the Huntley trilogy) – but again, Huntley was chosen because it implies action, skill and cunning – so George it was.

Hope’s name came about because I wanted to imply striving, that the heroine wanted a better future and yet was somehow vulnerable.

downloadDo you have plans for a sequel to this book?

Oh yes, “Hope’s Betrayal” is book two in the Huntley trilogy, and book three, “Verity’s Lie” has a provisional release date in two months time.

“Verity’s Lie” is the story of the eldest brother, Lord Charles Huntley – rake and secret agent.

Lord Charles Huntley, notorious rogue…and secret agent. His latest assignment is to protect a politician’s daughter, Verity Verrinder, while her father negotiates an alliance against Napoleon. Huntley embarks on a campaign of seduction to keep Verity under his watchful eye, but hasn’t anticipated falling in love with his charge.

When Lord Huntley turns his bone-melting charms on her, Verity suspects she’s exchanging an overbearing parent, for a domineering rogue. Denying her attraction to the handsome Huntley, Verity goes in search of freedom, only to run into the clutches of French kidnappers. This leaves Lord Huntley with a stark choice between saving Britain’s peace negotiations or the life of the only woman he has ever loved.

Who was the first romance author and book you read?
This was “Prince Charming” by Gaelen Foley.

What is the most exciting/daredevil thing you’ve ever done?

I have a none-existent sense of balance, so the bravest thing I’ve every done was to visit a dry-ski slope. It was terrifying! I hated having the ground slipping past and kept falling over. OK, so this isn’t exactly dare-devil – not in the grand scheme of things – but it was for me. (I’m also wise enough never to go again!)

Now, Lightning Round:

What is your favorite amusement park ride?
Dragon ride – Legoland.

Tea or coffee?
Chamomile tea!

French manicure or color (and if color, what color)?

You’ve hit a nerve here because I’d love to have beautifully manicured nails, but my ‘day job’ prevents it. I’m a veterinarian, as well as an author, and so my fingernails have to be nude – no polish allowed since I have to scrub up for ops and flakes of nail varnish would pose an infection risk.

Beach or mountains?
Beach – but to walk, not sun-bathe.

Chocolate or vanilla?
Chocolate – every time!

Boxers, briefs or commando?
Comfy briefs I’m afraid!

Blond, brunette or redhead? (preferred men’s hair color)
Dark brown with a floppy fringe…

Would you rather skydive or scuba dive?

I am absolutely terrified of heights. So much so, that I froze whilst on the ramparts of Warwick Castle. When I looked over the wall it was as if the ground was pulling me towards it. The only way I could get down was so sit on my bottom and shuffle.

So scuba diving it is!

Would you rather vacation in Hawaii, Vegas or London?

London – which is just as well because I live within commuting distance. One of my favorite hobbies is to explore London’s lesser known historic sites. Recently I went to St James’s Street, where the famous Georgian gentlemen’s clubs, White’s, Brooke’s and Boodle’s used to be, to see how things had changed. Next I intend to visit the Tower of London (not a one way trip, I hope.)

What’s the one thing you would never do?
Jump out of a perfectly good plane. Parachuting is definitely not for me!

One wild, winter’s night two worlds collide.

Known for his ruthless efficiency, Captain George Huntley is sent to stamp out smuggling on the south coast of England. On a night raid, the Captain captures a smuggler, but finds his troubles are just beginning when the lad turns out to be a lass, Hope Tyler.

With Hope as bait, the Captain sets a trap to catch the rest of the gang. But in a battle of
wills, with his reputation at stake, George Huntley starts to respect feisty, independent Hope.

Challenged by her sea-green eyes and stubborn loyalty Huntley now faces a new threat – his growing attraction to a sworn enemy. But a love where either Hope betrays her own kind, or Captain Huntley is court-marshaled, is not an easy destiny to follow.

Excerpt:

Lass Not a Lad.- Captain Huntley Makes a Discovery About his Prisoner.

Alone with his prisoner the Captain set to work, his face all harsh angles in the lamplight.
First to stem the bleeding. Working with deft hands, he pulled the bloodstained scarf from the felon’s head. Surprise registered, as he noted the delicate ears and elegant neck. The boy’s hair gleamed like polished-coal in the lamplight; tied back in a pony tail, black-as-the-devil’s heart.

Huntley reached for a rag to wipe blood from the boy’s eyes and cheek. Soft skin emerged from beneath the clotted mess. The boy was young…a round face with pointed chin, a tipped nose …and lips, softly parted and provocatively plump….just ripe for kissing. A flush of heat warmed Huntley’s cheeks. What was he thinking?

Wiping his sleeve across his eyes he forced himself to continue. He bathed the laceration, cleaning away sand and blood. Something about this lad had stirred deep emotions and the captain didn’t like it one little bit. He glanced toward the door, not wanting to be alone with the smuggler and these strange feelings he stirred.

“What the devil’s taking that wench so long?”

The fire was crackling nicely now, steam rising from the lad’s clothes. But it wasn’t warm enough; cold could kill every bit as much as blood loss.

”Hell’s teeth, do I have to do everything myself?”

With rising irritation, Huntley set to stripping the lad of his wet clothes.

He peeled back the patched jacket, twice its weight with water, and dropped it to the floor. A patched and frayed shirt, sticky with blood, clung to the lad’s lean frame. Huntley tugged the shirt-tail free of the lad’s sodden breeches and off over his head, with the result that the Captain’s pulse raced alarmingly.

“Get a grip, man.” Huntley muttered.

The lad had unexpectedly slim shoulders, a silver stiletto strapped to his thin upper arm.

“Naughty.”

Unsheathing the knife he held the elegant blade toward the firelight; a finely crafted weapon of silver filigree over an ivory handle— a lady’s weapon, and obviously expensive.

“Who did you steal this from, then?”

Placing the stiletto safely out of reach, he turned back to the table. Stripped of his shirt, it seemed the lad had broken ribs, for his chest was strapped. The bindings were soaked and must come off. Shifting the unconscious lad into a sitting position, balancing him against his shoulder, Huntley unwound the bandages.

As he lay the lad back down on the table, Huntley was suddenly struck by the peculiar shadows playing across the boy’s chest. A flush of blood heated his cheeks. That explained a lot! Huntley’s mouth dropped open; he threw back his head and laughed aloud with relief.

“Tis not a lad….but a lass!”

Alone in the scullery with a half-naked girl…no, not a girl, for she had the soft curves of a woman. Huntley took a step back. The sense of relief was overwhelming, that it was a woman who had excited his body so. He looked around for someone to share his astonishment, but the maid had not yet returned.

In his experience women were tiresome, wearisome creatures that sapped the spirit and drained the mind, but he studied this one with interest. Dark lashes lay brushed against her cheek, an almost catlike tilt to her closed eyes. Her skin was clear, fresh, and unblemished. Her face was wide, round even, but with a pointed chin and a nose turned up at the end. In all he decided, she was beautiful with the stubbornness of a mule and fragility of a china doll. She had been a worthy advisory on the dunes; agile, brave and resourceful and it thrilled him to the core. Lost in thought ,Huntley shrugged off his outer coat and covered her over, then removed himself to a respectable distance.

Nothing had changed, he told himself. She was a felon and would pay the penalty demanded by law. And if Huntley felt uneasy at the prospect he suppressed the emotion, it was just that he had to get used to the notion of interrogating a woman.

Spotlight Today: Rosanne Bittner’s Embrace the Wild Land

About Embrace the Wild Land {Book 4 ~ Savage Destiny Series}

Not only do the developing Indian wars threaten to destroy the family dynasty Zeke and Abbie Monroe have begun to build together, but now the Civil War rears its ugly head to intrude into their lives in wrenching twists and turns that tear Zeke and Abbie apart in ways they never expected.

The Savage Land is exploding both on the lawless plains and in the South, where Zeke must go to find one of his white brothers.  Don’t miss this compelling story of love, choices, dreams and cruel reality wherein only the strongest of love can hold two people together, the kind of love shared by Zeke and Abbie Monroe.

Excerpt:

(Lone Eagle is Zeke Monroe’s Indian name)

“Lone Eagle?”  Abigail called out again.  She walked into the darkness behind their tipi, for she had not seen him anywhere in the light of the fires.  “Lone Eagle, where are you?”  She gasped as a strong arm grasped her about the waist and pulled her close.  In the next moment he was kissing her savagely, a light odor of whiskey on his breath.  … Somehow he was different tonight, his soul torn and his desire enhanced by whiskey he’d drunk to try to forget the ache of what was happening to his people.  He released the kiss but kept a tight hold on her so that it was difficult to even breathe.  “I want you,” he told her fiercely.

He came down on her, wrapping his arms around her and rolling over quickly so that she was on top of him.  “Be free tonight, woman of Lone Eagle,” he told her.  “Do not be like a white woman.  Be Lone Eagle’s woman …”

About Rosanne Bittner

____6858723I’ve been writing for nearly thirty years and to date have had 57 novels published, all about the American West of the 1800’s and Native Americans. I write romance, but not the typical bodice-ripping adventures. My stories are deep love stories, often family sagas told as a series. It is the hero and heroine’s love that holds them together through the trials and tribulations of settling America’s western frontiers. I absolutely love the Rockies, the Tetons, the Sierras, and the wide-open plains, prairies and desert land west of the Mississippi. In my books, I strive to tell the truth about the settling of the West and how it affected our American Indians, as well as the gritty depth of what our brave pioneers suffered in their search for free land and a better life.

I am a member of the Nebraska and Oklahoma Historical Societies, my local southwest Michigan historical society, Women Writing the West, Mid-Michigan Romance Writers of America (treasurer) and the national RWA, and a local charity group called the Coloma Lioness Club. I help run a family business and love doing things with my three young grandsons. that would cause more harm were it allowed to stand. He peered into a face that was losing some of its joy at his long silence.

“My lord, you would speak with me?”

“Aye, my lady.” Still he could find no words.

Her brows rose in alarm at his continued silence. “My…my lord, is something amiss?”

Sweet Saturday: 03/09/13 Betrothal ~ “Tongue-Tied”

Welcome back to Sweet Saturday Sample!  All excerpts here are rated PG-13 or milder.

I’m continuing with a sample from my medieval WIP, Time Enough to Love:  Book 1 ~ Betrothal. My editor is over half-way through and sounds positive, so I’m crossing fingers for a new round of edits this week!

Disclaimer:  This work is still going through the editing process, so please forgive any flaws.

Betrothal with Logo

This series is set in England and France in 1348.  Part 1, Betrothal, takes place at the court of King Edward III.

This excerpt comes just after last Sunday’s 8 sentences (If you’d like to read them, they are here.)  Alyse was discussing her possible choices for the Round Table knights and ladies she and Geoffrey might play in the coming procession. Decision made, Princess Joanna elects to walk in the garden.  They open the door on a very surprised Geoffrey Longford.

Geoffrey had raised his hand to knock at the princess’s chamber door when it opened as if of its own accord, bringing him face-to-face with Princess Joanna and her retinue. He stepped back and bowed deeply to the princess.

“Sir Geoffrey.” Princess Joanna greeted him with an amused air. “You have been quite the topic of our conversation this morning.”

Geoffrey shot a glance at Alyse then smiled back at the princess. “Indeed, Your Highness, I beg pardon. To have had such a tiresome subject before you on a beautiful morning must have tried your soul.”

Joanna laughed, a trilling that sounded pleasantly in the ear. “Nay, Sir

Knights of the Round Table

Knights of the Round Table

Geoffrey, quite the opposite I assure you. You enlivened our morning nicely. We are now on our way to the gardens for some fresh air and to cool us down from our heated discussion of the Knights of the Round Table.

Lord, that did not bode well.

“Will you accompany us?”

Geoffrey bowed again, but shook his head. “Nothing would give me greater pleasure, Highness, but I must return to attend your father the king but shortly. I only came to beg a moment of Lady Alyse’s time, an it please you.”

She gave him an inquiring look but said, “Aye, Sir Geoffrey. You may speak with Lady Alyse privately, though for a few moments only. More is not seemly, even for those betrothed. My ladies and I will await her just outside.” The princess gave him another curious look as she passed by but Geoffrey bowed again and Alyse curtsied, and she continued down the corridor and passed into the courtyard.

Alyse turned to Geoffrey, her expectant smile making his stomach tighten. Suddenly he was tongue-tied.

I hope you enjoyed this latest sample from  Betrothal.   And be sure to click here to visit more Sweet Samples.

LIPSBeau raised his head just in time to see her long, pink tongue emerge from between blood red lips. Starting at the thick root of his cock, it continued sliding aloft in one single, sensuous lick, ending at the crown. A is for Angelo’s

I’ve decided to start a new regular feature on Jenna’s Journal. I got the idea from an author on one of my loops who spoke of an alphabet challenge in April where you post something daily going alphabetically throughout the month.  Well, I’m not going to post daily, but once a week I think will work for me.  Then I can get through the alphabet twice each year.  And my postings will most likely have an historical bent to them–as does my first post.

A is for Angelo’s

"I shall conquer this" Watercolor of Henry Angelo's Fencing Academy, by Rowlandson, 1787.

“I shall conquer this” Watercolor of Henry Angelo’s Fencing Academy, by Rowlandson, 1787.

Angelo’s was the premiere fencing academy in London by 1758.  Established by Italian born Dominico Angelo Malevolti Tremamondo in 1755, Angelo’s school, located in Soho, rose quickly in reputation based on its proprietor’s skill in both fencing and riding.

The Duel

The Duel

Angelo (as he was called) won several celebrated fencing matches, most notably against famed Irish duelist Keyes.  This match drew the attention not only of the English nobility but the royal family as well.  In 1758 Angelo was appointed fencing master to the Prince of Wales and the reputation of his academy solidified.

In 1763 Angelo published a book, L’Ecole des Armes (The School of Fencing),

The Fencing School by Fencing Master Angelo

The Fencing School by Fencing Master Angelo

that presented the essential rules of fencing posture and footwork that are still in use in modern fencing today.   He did not allow his students to wear fencing masks in order to train them for real combat.  Swordsmanship was essential to every gentleman of the English aristocracy of the time.  Until the late 18th century, duels of honor were usually fought with swords and unless a man was reasonably skilled he stood to lose his life in defense of his honor.

800px-Dendrono_-_Der_fechtende_StudentAngelo and his sons founded a dynasty of fencing instruction that lasted from 1755 until the late 19th century.  Their academy became the haunt of most of the sons of the nobility, where they were instructed not only in fencing, but in deportment as well.  One contemporary reported “I have seen old Angelo at Oxford bring his foil to the salute, and bowing profoundly to some undergraduate wild from the woods, pronounce with magisterial emphasis, ‘This, sir, is an academy of politeness as well as of arms!’”

In my House of Pleasure series, Angelo’s academy has already figured in Only Scandal Will Do and is mentioned in the second book as well.  As it was such a fixture of the Georgian period, I suspect the name Angelo will make an appearance in each of the series’ works.

What the Butler Saw ~ Interview with Liza O’Connor’s Butler from Saving Casey

Jenna: Today I’m interviewing Liza O’Connor’s character, Cass Davidson from her
fabulous novel, Saving Casey.
*Old butler enters the room*
butler

Jenna: You’re not Cass.
Butler: Indeed I am not.
Jenna: Where’s Cass?
Butler: I cannot say.
Jenna: Why? Oh I know. Butlers can’t talk about their employers. Well, I’m not sure
what to do now. I guess we’ll have to cancel this interview.
Butler: Excellent idea. I’ll return to my duties now.
*Small kitten bursts through the open window, drops an envelope in Jenna’s lap and
runs out.*
maniac

Jenna: If I’m not mistaken that was Liza’s marketing kitten Maniac.
Butler: Yes, I’m afraid it was.
Jenna: *reads letter*
Butler: *turns to exit*
Jenna: Hold on! Liza says I am to interview you instead of Cass.
Butler: That is not possible.
Jenna: Liza got you dispensation so you can tell me and my readers anything. So
where’s Cass?
Butler: I cannot say, because the ‘security specialist’ refused to tell me where he
intended to take her.
Jenna: While your face doesn’t give much away, by your phrasing, I’m thinking
whatever reason he had for not telling you has pissed you off.
Butler: Nonsense.
Jenna: If you want to make this a hostile interview…I can interrogate with the best of
them.
Butler: *swallows hard* Would you care for some green tea.
Jenna: I’d prefer Peach Barcardi.
Butler: *hand’s her a peach Barcadi* Madam’s drink.
Jenna: *takes drink* Thanks. So tell me a bit about Casey. I understand she calls you
her butler-parent.
Butler: She does indeed. I have been her primary care giver since her nanny was let
go when she turned thirteen. In retrospect, that may have been a mistake, for that’s when
Casey’s troubles began. *sighs heavily* Casey’s mishaps went beyond anyone’s ability to contain.

Jenna: Such as?
Butler: Where to start? She falsely accused several boys of raping her on a school bus.
Jenna: How do you know it was a false accusation?
Butler: 30 children, an adult chaperone, and a driver were on that bus. They all said
nothing happened. More to the point, the chaperone was Lady Margaret and one of the
boys accused was her son. Normally, such a false and vicious accusation would have severed any friendship, but Lady Margaret never blamed my mistress in this matter, even as most of Lady Anne’s social friends dropped her acquaintance.
Casey took back her accusation, but the damage her lies caused never healed. Her
false accusation was followed with two attempts at suicide, forcing her father to finally pay attention to his family. All he did was take Casey out of school for the remainder of the year. She saw a therapist, but to no improvement. She grew angrier and more destructive with each day, finally, destroying her beautiful face with those tattoos.
Jenna: Poor thing.
Butler: Yes, this was very hard on my mistress. She went from social darling to pariah.
After three years of this disaster, she has only one friend left, Lady Margaret.
Jenna: I was referring to Cass.
Butler: You wouldn’t be so sympathetic to Cass if you knew half of what she did.
However, I must say, this recent suicide attempt appears to have wakened her up. While
remaining most difficult, she does finally appear to be trying to turn herself around. But then she has tried several times before and matters have only gotten worse.
Jenna: Can you give us an example:
Butler: In fact, I can. I’ve clipped this excerpt from the book. It’s a conversation
between her and myself:

“Did my father tell you I am to have my rooms painted in cream?”
He nodded. “I have to get your mother’s permission on the color.”
“Why?” Clearly no one cared what color the Old Casey had chosen.

“She is responsible for all decorative decisions in this house.”
“So she’s responsible for the giant penis and vagina?”

Jenna: Hold on. What penis and vagina is she talking about?
Butler: Just ignore her comment.
Jenna: My readers never ignore those particular body parts.
Butler: *sighs heavily* Miss Cass refers to art pieces that Lady Anne had
commissioned for the ballroom.

*Maniac Kitten jumps through window and brings Jenna another note.

Jenna: Thanks Maniac.

*Kitten climbs in her nearly empty peach barcardi.*
Jenna: Ah, Maniac. I was enjoying my drink.
*Maniac starts to climb out*
Jenna: You can stay. I don’t want it anymore. *reads note and focuses on the butler*
According to Maniac, Cass’ ballroom possesses the world’s largest purple and green papier-mâché vagina in one corner and at the other end of the room resides a twenty-foot twisted and bent red penis.
Butler: As I said, Lady Anne had the artwork commissioned. I do not believe she had
input in the topic, size, or color of the finished work.
Jenna: How much did this cost?
Butler: I’m not at liberty to disclose that.
Maniac kitten produces another envelope.
Jenna: *smiles and reads note* Well, aren’t you helpful. *focuses on the butler* This
says Lady Anne spent $1.2 million on unhappy genitals.
Butler: *glares at Maniac, causing the kitten to scamper out the window.* I do not
see how that matters. My point in providing this excerpt is to show I had no choice but to take charge of Cass while she remains so difficult. A nanny would have no chance reining her in. Even I struggle…which you’ll see if you let go of the…artwork and allow the excerpt to continue.
Jenna: Fine, let’s all let go of the purple and green vagina and angry red penis and
continue with the excerpt.

His eyes narrowed, but he didn’t reply.
Cass matched his narrow eyes with her own, although with all the black tattooing, she doubted he’d notice the change. “I am not sleeping in my suite until the walls are cream. Which means if you don’t get those rooms painted before the day is out, I’m sleeping in a guest room tonight.”
His right eyebrow arched in a challenge. “The guest rooms are locked.”She arched her own eyebrow, but again questioned if he could even see her counter move, since she didn’t yet possess eyebrows. “Then I’ll sleep on a couch in one of the many living rooms we possess. What I won’t do is sleep in the Adam’s Family suite of rooms.”

Butler: You see how confrontational and difficult she has become?

Jenna: I gotta be honest, if you’re willing to pay a million dollars for unhappy giant genitals, what’s the big deal about having her room painted.

Butler: She wanted her walls painted cream.
Jenna: And….
Butler: Lady Anne does not approve of cream. It’s out of fashion.
Jenna: But you did have her rooms painted.
Butler: I had no choice. I could not risk Lady Anne discovering Cass sleeping on a
couch. Thus painting the rooms without approval seemed the best of two evils. The last time Lady Anne entered Cass’ room, she found her daughter lying on the floor, to all appearances dead. I doubt my mistress will ever go in those rooms again. *glances at watch* Are we done? I have a great deal of work to do.

Jenna: Sure, thanks for coming by.*watches him leave* Man, I had no idea how
intimidating a butler could be.
Maniac: *crawls back in the window* Grumpy Thornton’s gone, right?
Jenna: Yes, thank God…Hey Maniac, you’re talking.
Maniac: *climbs back in glass of peach Bacardi* Of course. I’m a marketing kitten. I
couldn’t do my job if I didn’t talk.
Jenna: Thanks for all the useful information.
Maniac: No problem. Want to see my latest promotion for Saving Casey?
Jenna: I would love too, but Liza warned me not let you show anything until they are
cleared by her lawyer.
Maniac: * sighs* Maybe you could have me back later, once the lawyers check out my
new promotions.
Jenna: *pets her head* If Liza says I can, I would love to have you over. You are one
unique kitten.
Maniac: *shakes head* Nope, I just market myself well. Now don’t forget to close this
blog with the book cover and blurb…and the trailer. It makes people want to buy the book.
I’ve watched it about 100 times, and every time I buy another copy of Saving Casey. My
Kindle is full of Saving Casey’s.
Jenna: Keep an eye on me to ensure I do this to your satisfaction.

Blurb:

Having been diagnosed with cancer, Cass Goldman decides to opt out of any futile medical care and end her life. While she has some thoughts on afterlife, she never expects to reincarnate into the body of a seventeen-year-old girl named Casey Davidson.

When she awakens in a hospital, Cass discovers two disturbing facts: One, she is now inside the body of a troubled teenager, and two, the former owner of this body committed suicide, but only Cass knows that. Everyone else believes Casey has survived, but suffered a complete memory loss. Cass has two choices: to take on Casey’s life and turn it around, or to confess the truth about her reincarnation and end up in a mental asylum. Given this second chance to life, Cass decides to take on the future life of Casey—the frightening ghoul-faced teen with short, black, spiky hair.

Every person around Cass has an ulterior motive and discovering the truth of Old
Casey’s life is more complicated than the “new math” she is forced to learn in school. In
addition, Cass has to contend with raging teenage hormones and the prior crimes of Old
Casey, which she might not remember, but everyone else certainly does. However, her biggest frustration concerns her feelings for her father’s rugged security specialist who sees her only as a teenager and doesn’t want to explore the mutual attraction between them.

As determined as Cass is to turn this life around, Old Casey’s enemies are just as
determined to end her life. She has no idea whom she can trust, but she knows she’ll never
survive going it alone.

Jenna: And for those who prefer a visual blurb, here’s the Saving Casey trailer:

Weekend Writing Warriors: 03/03/13 Betrothal: “A Surprise”

WEEKEND WRITING WARRIORS

Welcome back to the Weekend Writing Warriors again. I’m so enjoying seeing my old friends and finding new authors. Hope you all have a great hop!

Betrothal with Logo

Today you get more from Betrothal, my medieval romance set in the 14th century.  These sentences show what Alyse has been doing while Geoffrey is having his crisis ( if you want to see what happened up to this point, check out yesterday’s post from Sweet Saturday)   If you’d like to catch up, you can read some of the posts from a previous week here.  In this snippet, Alyse, Princess Johanna and her waiting women are about to take a walk when they are interrupted.

She could hardly wait for the evening meal when she would meet with her betrothed again and tell him her choice. Anticipating his reaction would keep her thoughts occupied until then. Oh, pray he would be pleased!

“Now, ladies.” Princess Joanna rose, prompting the others to do likewise. “After this flurry of excitement I think I would like to walk in the gardens a while before it becomes overly warm.” The young princess started for the door, Maurya, Alyse and Anne following in her wake. An attendant opened the door and the ladies stopped their progress at the sight of Geoffrey Longford standing in the doorway, his eyes wide in surprise.

If you want more, please come back next week! 🙂  Right now, you can click here to hop on to more Writing Warrior posts!  And thanks for coming by!
