I’m back after my May hiatus, and starting with a new work (well, it’s one you may have seen a year or so ago), To Woo A Wicked Widow, the first book in The Widow’s Club series, set to release in April 2018.
I’ll start with the beginning, as Lady Charlotte Fownhope is running away to Gretna Green to marry her groom, Edward. This snippet has been slightly modified from the final copy to conform to WWW rules. Edward is the first to speak below.
“Toll keeper!” he called, rending the silent night; after a moment he called again, still with no result.
“He must be dead asleep.” The wind had risen, causing Charlotte to tug her cloak closer.
“Dead drunk’s more like.” Edward dismounted, strode to the toll house door, and knocked.
The door jerked open and a huge hand grasped his shoulder, dragging him inside.
“Edward!” Charlotte dropped the reins, peeled her aching leg from around the horn of the sidesaddle, and slid to the ground. As her boots hit the dirt, two men appeared from nowhere.

But when Charlotte discovers Nash’s treachery and her father’s involvement, can she trust him enough to risk her heart again?

This one certainly was! But there was not other way for them to go. Usually you had to be afraid of highwaymen, but Charlotte’s up against another adversary here.
