Happy Sunday! And happy holidays! Hope everyone is getting ready for the season!
For my Six Sentence Sunday post today, I’m continuing from yesterday’s post with six sentences from The Present, from my Christmas collection, All Wrapped Up.

These six follow about a paragraph after my post from yesterday. If you’d like to catch up on what’s going on, click here.
At this point, Tessa is being forced to dump her sister’s boyfriend—on Christmas Eve. She’s had a little liquid courage when Hal appears. The first speaker is Hal.
The puzzled frown on his face made Tess’s stomach churn. “I told her I’d come right over after my flight got in and we could catch the end of her office party.”
Swift and painless, like a surgeon. “She went without you, Hal. She said to tell you she didn’t think it would work out between you two.” God, she could barely say the words—what must it be like to hear them?
Thanks so much for visiting me today. All Wrapped Up is available now at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Smashwords. I’m putting up more of the story tomorrow and completing the story on Christmas day. Hope you visit to find out what happens with these two.
Now pop over to the Six Sentence Sunday list and check out the rest of the snippets. See you there!

Brutal! I love how she considers her words from both points-of-view. I’d hate to ever have to relay a message such as this one!

I backed up and read yesterday’s post. But even without reading that (well done, btw), today’s six told us so much about these sisters. Love how you showed Tess’ thoughts in the last sentence. Great six!

Her understanding that it’s a rotten thing to do to the guy really tells the reader a lot about her personality. She’s a good person. I loved this story.

Whoa! Making your sister dump your boyfriend for you! That’s lower than a Post-It note!

What a horrible person her sister must be. 😦 Poor lady to have to take on a task like that.
Merry Christmas to you and yours. I hope you have a grand time.

That’s the only way to do it, swift like a surgeon, even if it really stings to hear or say those words. Great six.

A nasty thing to do to this guy. Nice surgeon analogy. Happy holiday to you and to your fictional characters, too.

Loved the emotion there. Really like that she’s thinking about her words from a different perspective too. Great 6!
