Welcome back to Six Sentence Sunday! I want to thank everyone, once again, for their great support each week. I do appreciate your visits and look forward to each comment with anticipation. I also look forward to visiting your sites and reading your wonderful stories.
Once again I’m following up my six from last week with the next six sentences from Only Scandal Will Do.
If you remember, Duncan has purchased a woman in a brothel auction and has come to claim his prize. His “slave” however, continues to insist there has been a mistake. He has managed to turn the tables on the “lady” and called her virtue into question. Last week, outraged, she turned and fled, only to be stopped short by her purchaser. Now she’s opted to try to reason with the man. Kat creates a strategy as she speaks, determined to talk her way out of this.
She forced herself to relax, though the thought of his hands on her raised goose-flesh everywhere. It was only her hair, after all, and no great sin. Perhaps if she softened her demeanor she could convince him of her plight. She could offer honeyed tones for a little while.
“Will you hear my story of how a lady ended up in this House of Pleasure, sir?” Even to her own ears her “innocent” voice sounded false.
Katarina’s getting more desperate. Will he listen or no?
If you’d like to read more about Kat’s plight, check out my posts from January at Sweet Saturday Sample and come back next week for another six sentence installment.

Somehow I don’t think her wicked wiles are going to work here. She needs to find a better way to reach him…quick!

Whoa! I’m going to have to read the earlier excerpts, or get the book. I didn’t see anything about potentially kneeing him in the groin, or was that just Skye’s idea? Yeah, I’d think twice about that retribution thing, especially if couldn’t get away really, really quickly. Great post, Jenna.

Locked into a room with a man intent on having his way with you, if you knee him–and you’re still locked in–you will likely regret it. I think Kat is being smart trying to appeal to his better side. You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. ‘Course…why you’d want to catch flies… 🙂

Is he wearing protective armou down there? if so a knee would be more painful to her. I assume he’ll hear her story ….eventually… in the mean time we get an idea of what she’s like with her problem solving skills..

huh—waiting to hear from him before deciding about a knee to the balls but….well done Jenna!

She might think twice about a knee to the balls if she might be locked in with him. Retribution wouldn’t be swift but it would probably be bad news when it came! LOL

But thanks for the idea, ladies! 🙂

LOL @Skye. I had the thought too. Knee him and run! 🙂 Great six, Jenna!

I think Syke has a point. But I wonder how hard it would be dressed as she is.
