We’re back once more for Six Sentence Sunday. I truly appreciate everyone’s comments each week. Thank you to all who choose to visit my blog. I hope you’re having as much fun as I am. Last week my blog hit its record high for hits for one day. I’m really psyched!
This week, again we see another scene with Rafe and Samantha. Today we’re going to eavesdrop on a bit of their meeting out under the copper beech. Rafe has just asked her if she will consent to become his wife.
“You don’t want to marry me.”
“No, my lady, I must say I do not.”
“Thank God,” she said as she let out the breath she had been holding, and relaxed. “Did you tell my father that you didn’t want to marry me?” she asked, then pushed herself away from the tree and came to stand before him, looking up expectantly.
“No, I never voiced that opinion to him,” Rafael said, looking at her curiously. The animation that had sprung into her face transformed her from a merely beautiful woman to an exquisite woman of unparalleled beauty; it was like watching life breathed into a china doll.
At last Samantha has an ally; or does she?
Hope you’re still enjoying the six each week from As Long As You’re Mine. Next week we’ll see what we can come up with.
For more great snippets please go to Six Sentence Sunday. Or join in the fun next week with six of your own.
And if you liked my six, perhaps you’d like some of my published work as well. Heart of Deception, is available for purchase from Books To Go Now!, and Hog Wild from New Dawning International Bookfair. Both are available from Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and All Romance Ebooks.

I liked the china doll line, but I confess I found the sentence awkward because of using ‘woman’ twice 🙂
As always, I eagerly await what comes next 😉

Could be. He’s an honorable man, but a man nevertheless. He could change his mind. 🙂

An ally? Hmmm…maybe eventually 🙂 Great six, Jenna! And congrats on reaching a record high on your blog!

Thanks, Jennifer. I think she means ally in that neither one wants the marriage. But Daddy does, and he’s just as stubborn as her!

An ally indeed. She is a silly goose for wanting out of this arrangement. But I love that he is so open with her and honest.

He’s going to be upfront with her, that’s for sure. And she has her reasons for wanting out. If anyone can bring her around, it’s Rafe. Thanks, for coming by, Casea!

If I’m not mistaken wasn’t Samantha totally and completely compromised by Rafe, this one, not the one she wants to marry. And wasn’t said compromise witnessed by her father of all people. As such, considering the times, why would she be given the choice to marry. It’s a give. I turly can’t wait to read how she will get out of this situation.

Yes, Lindsay, she’s throoughly compromised. But she’s also as stubborn as a bulldog with a bone. LOL Her father told Rafe she has a very inventive way of thinking. But you’ll have to wait to see what happens!
