News from the Beach

Well, it’s been an eventful week so far–so eventful I’m just now sitting down to tell you about it!

Our trek down on the 4th of July was actually uneventful. We decided to travel late in the day and although we didn’t get to the Outer Banks until 9:00 at night, there was absolutely NO TRAFFIC! So we settled into our condo–not our usual one as we traded for one on the first floor–and have been having a blast ever since.

Not as great a view as our second floor condo, but NO STAIRS!

I’ve been reading for the first time in months, Diana Gabaldon’s Go Tell the Bees that I Am Gone, so that I can watch the final season of Outlander when I’m done. So far I’m about 200 pages in.

And my girls and I have been playing board games in the evenings–Bridgerton Monopoly and a new one called Poetry for Neanderthals. Absolutely hysterical! I’ll explain it with pictures in another post tomorrow.

Yesterday was our big family outing to see Toy Story 5 and eat at one of our favorite restaurants down here, The Thai Room. The movie was fabulous–I totally recommend it for anyone who enjoys the franchise–and the food afterward was out of this world.

Today is our day at a local shopping center called Scarborough Fair, so my post tomorrow will include that outing too.

Hope you’re having a wonderful summer as well!

Until tomorrow…

They made a Bridgerton Monopoly? I love that show! I saw Toy Story 5 with my family including my 4 year old grandson, Ben. We really liked it! Happy Summer!
