Just wishing everyone a Happy 4th of July!
We’re celebrating today with a cookout in the back yard this afternoon and a christening of our new above ground pool. Then around 8:00 we’re heading to Williamsburg for the annual fireworks display.
The 4th of July has been special for the last 18 years, every since we moved to eastern Virginia, just across the York River from Yorktown and Williamsburg where the American Experiment began. It’s brought a deeper sense of history to me living here where our independence was won.

So I hope your celebration for the day is full of fun, food, friends, and family.
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!
As a special treat, I’ll leave you with a musical number from Hamilton:

I’m going to celebrate this holiday by lolling in bed. Bronchitis will do that to a guy.

Jenna, thanks once again for reminding those who have forgotten the meaning of this day. I lost my husband, a pilot in wartime, and this day brings back memories of our country. Best always, my friend. Hugs always.
