Even if she escapes, word of who she is and where she is may get out. She is, to coin a phrase, screwed. So to speak.

That is a big concern, however, avoiding rape is probably Kat’s most pressing issue now. But yes, if word got out she’d be ruined or even worse forced to marry the rapist. Such were the ethics of the 18th century. 🙂
