Hello! Jenna the Zombie here. Considering my new “state” I thought that in honor of the day, I would give you my picks for some spooktacular Halloween reading today. Curl up with one of these wickedly good books and you’ll have a frightfully good time this Hallow’s Eve!
First up is a haunting good tale from Sarah Balance called Hawthorne.
After a terrifying encounter with the unexplained, it takes ten years and the news of her grandmother’s passing for Emma Grace Hawthorne to return to her childhood home. She seeks peace in saying a proper goodbye, but what she finds is an old love, a sordid family history, and a wrong only she can right.
Living in the shadow of Hawthorne Manor, Noah Garrett has never forgotten about Emma Grace. In a house full of secrets, his search for missing documents reveals a truth that can cost him everything. What he finds gave Emma the freedom to walk away from the mansion, her heart free and clear, but at what price to Noah?

What do you do when you find a skeleton at the door? Read E. Ayers’ charming book to find out!
Trick or Treat! Angie Robertson opens her door and finds a six-foot tall skeleton on her doorstep. Is
it a trick or a treat?
Angie thought the man at her door was her neighbor. Except he wasn’t. Dressed for a charity event Tom Meyer winds up on the wrong doorstep and this just might be the best thing that ever happened to him.
What if the skeleton was a really nice guy who’d been burned by enough women that he’s lost faith in ever finding someone who could be faithful?
A Skeleton at Her Door is a sensual romance. It’s about trusting, putting the past away, and finding love when it’s least expected. It’s also about blending two households, parenting, three children, and sneaking off for some adult time.

From what I’ve heard, there’s apparently no lover like a Ghost Lover, at least according to Liza O’Connor’s fantastic romance. Here’s one apparition who will give you a very warm welcome.
Two sexy English brothers. One irresistible ghost. Who would you choose as your lover?
Completely broke and with a criminal record to boot, Senna Smith is one day from eviction from her apartment when Brendon, her promiscuous roommate from London, suggests she go to England, marry him, and manage his fortune. With few other options, she agrees to an open marriage. But she’ll never, ever, have sex with him, knowing if she falls in love with him, he’ll break her heart.
As trustee of Brendon’s family fortune, there is no way Brendon’s older brother, Garrison Durran, is going to let him marry a self-professed American gold-digger. As Senna tries to embrace castle life and English society for Brendon’s sake, Gar discovers Senna is the perfect woman for him–beautiful and intelligent, kind and caring. Now, if she wasn’t already engaged to his brother…
The ancestral ghost of Durran Castle has to intervene if the Durran brothers have any chance of an heir. He can’t leave them to fix matters on their own. They are useless buggers when it comes to love. As counselor to Gar, matchmaker for Brendon, and lover to Senna, a ghost’s work is never done.

The saying goes, “From ghoulies and ghosties and long-legged beasties and things that go bump in the night, good Lord deliver us.” However, I think you’re going to want to encounter the ghost in Marie Higgins ghostly story, Waiting for You.
When a beautiful woman claiming to be a ghost from 1912 appears in Nick Marshal’s
new office and begs for help in solving her murder, he’s intrigued enough to consider her plea. A scandal that rocked Hollywood almost destroyed his law practice, so taking on a client who insists she’s dead seems a good way to refresh his career. The more history he uncovers, the deeper he falls for the ghost. Abigail Carlisle believes Nick is her heart’s true desire, but how can happily ever after happen when she’s already dead?
And now, two books very close to my heart (if I still had one), my zombie pick of the day, Aleah Barley’s Dead Sexy and Dead Set, books 1 & 2 of her Detroit Zombies series. My kind aren’t depicted as warm and fuzzy–‘cos we’re not–but the romance is to die for!
Dead Sexy:
Mortuary attendant Gemma Sinclair hunts zombies for a living. It’s messy work, but it pays the bills… right up until she stun guns the wrong dead man in the ass.
Now to keep her family business going, Gemma’s forced into a partnership with federal agent D.S. Thomas Conroy. Zombies are disappearing all over town, and he needs Gemma’s help to figure out why.
With a villain on her trail and a gang of zombies ready to attack, Gemma’s just glad her backup is dead sexy…
Available at Amazon.
Dead Set:
Hunting zombies is a tough job and Gemma Sinclair’s been working harder than ever to clear the streets of Detroit, Dead City.
She can deal with the feral Biters, her mother, and even the reappearance of sexy secret agent Thomas Conroy. But an undead serial killer who rips his victims apart will take her to the limit.
Now the entire city’s on edge and if the zombies don’t get her the rioters might.

Wonderful post! How fun that you can zombie yourself. I do agree about the Ghost Lover… If only I could find a man like that ghost! I did try to bribe Liza to get him to visit me, but nothing worked!

My mother used to say that a little lipstick could fix everything. Maybe not zombies, though.
Loved your choices in books. I haven’t read a single one of them as I rarely go for scary books, however, one or two look tame enough for me. I’ll give them a try on your recommendation.
Happy Halloween!

Great assortment of authors there. But I’m like Ella – I don’t do scary – it scares me.

Zombification takes a toll, Daryl. LOL If you don’t do scary, I think A Skeleton at Her Door, Waiting for You, and Ghost Lover would be the best Halloween treats. 🙂 Thanks for coming by!

Thank you, Ella. I think even you’d get into Ghost Lover, although the setting is contemporary, the ghost is a family member long dead. And a very sexy ghost he is! 🙂 Thanks for the Tweet!
