I’m raising my head from revisions of Beleaguered, the final installment of my medieval serial novel Time Enough to Love. So here’s a little preview of it (non-edited, so please forgive any errors) in case you were wondering what I’ve been up to.
Thomas has insisted Alyse dance with Geoffrey at the princess’s banquet. Alyse fears this is a bad idea, but has no choice but to comply.

Lead a Dance from Roman of the Rose
Geoffrey led her to their place in the circle of dancers, then grasped her hand and pulled her around to face him.
The moment his hand touched her skin a burst of fire shot through her. Her mouth went dry and her eyes riveted to his–surely he felt that as well?
He stared back, his eyes mirroring all too clearly the blaze that coursed up her arm and spread like wildfire throughout her body.
Damn Geoffrey Longford.
In a daze, she looked around at the other dancers, as if expecting them to stare accusingly at her. As if they could see this sinful feeling that licked at her soul. At a loss for what to do, or how to act, she raised her gaze to beseech Geoffrey, “What do we do now?”

The excerpt was good. It made my heart ache for them–all three of them, actually four if you count Geoffrey’s wife. She thinks ‘damn Geoffrey Longford’ and I think ‘damn Geoffrey Longford’s father’. I like this series. 🙂

Poor Alyse. Never did a young woman deserve to be happy than her. Her heart is so willing to love. But she loves two men and two men love her. Any chance they can have a menage do trois?
