Happy Sunday! And happy holidays! Hope everyone is getting ready for the New Year!
For my final Six Sentence Sunday post of the year, I’m putting up six from my historical novel, Only Scandal Will Do. It’s been the year of Scandal for me, with my first full-length novel finally being published in both e-book and print! This time last year I’d just been sent the gorgeous cover from my publisher at Lyrical. What a difference a year makes!

These six are from one of my favorite parts of the novel: Lady Katarina has just been formally introduced to the Marquess of Dalbury, the man who had bought her in a brothel auction three weeks before. They have just shared a dance and Dalbury has escorted her into the gardens in order for them to talk about their situation and he has just asked her to marry him.
“I can swear to you, Lord Dalbury, that I would not marry you if I were in Hell and you were my only hope of Heaven.”
“I believe you made a similar claim about dancing with me, Lady Katarina, yet we have indeed enjoyed a dance together despite your words.” His tone was soft, the sensuous, cajoling one he had used to seduce her that night in the House of Pleasure.
Kat trembled, recalling the incredible sensations of his hands, his mouth on her body.
“Is there nothing that would entice you to leave your Hell for my Heaven?”
She struggled to answer, opened her lips to deny it, only to find her mouth completely sealed by his.
And that kiss was all Dalbury’s idea! I had no intention of writing it at all! LOL

Thanks so much for visiting me today. Only Scandal Will Do is available now at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and at Lyrical Press today through Monday for the incredible price of $1.50! If you wanted a copy, now’s your chance! Ring in the New Year with Kat and Duncan’s tale of love and adventure. 🙂
Now pop over to the Six Sentence Sunday list and check out the rest of the snippets. See you there!

Oh, YUM. And I am SO EXCITED. Amazon promises my print copy will be here by Thursday, so if I see you this weekend I’m going to beg for your autograph! :c)

I love the exchanges between them. Kat’s line sounds like an intertitle I’d expect to see in a classic silent drama.

I’m sorry, Angela. Lyrical’s the only one having the sale. I guess that sentence needs editing. 🙂
