Only Scandal Will Do is Released on Amazon!

At long last, four days earlier than expected, my Georgian Novel, Only Scandal Will Do has been released!

I am overwhelmed, excited, happy, scared.  The list goes on. But I am mostly very happy and excited to be able to share it with my readers who have heard about this book for almost a year now.

I will have the Official Release Day Party on Monday, July 23 because I’m still setting up for that little shindig.  I’ve got blogs planned for the week and a BIG contest I’ll tell you about in a minute.

Duncan and Katarina, my hero and heroine, have made this journey with me, through major rewrites, beta reads,  and edits as I used them and their story to learn how to be a writer.  They are as real to me as some of my friends, and it’s a little sad and scary to have them out in the world now.  But as they are dauntless, I’m sure we’ll all survive.  And they will return throughout the Scandal series, so I haven’t totally let go.  Yet.

There are also some people I need to thank, because without them this book would not have been written.  First and foremost I thank my husband and two daughters who have supported me throughout the three years I have been working on this story.  I’ve ignored them more nights than not to work on the computer, go off to writer’s conventions and retreats.  And they’ve done their best to leave me alone and let me write.  Thank you, guys.  This is the winner’s circle for us!

I also need to thank my four beta readers:  Kary Rader, Patricia Green, Carrie Olguin, and Brenda Dyer.  Without you ladies and your critiques and support, this book would not have made it to the query stage.  Thank you for making me make hard decisions, for pushing  when I didn’t want to budge, for making me hear things I didn’t want to hear.  That’s what good crit partners do and you are the best!

In that same vein, my heartfelt thanks to Marion Browning-Baker, for keeping my historical research straight.  You did a fantastic job, Marion.  I’ve already gotten compliments on the period details.  And last, but certainly not least, my editor Mary Murray, who believed in this manuscript and worked in collaboration with me to make the book the best it could possibly be.  I’m incredibly proud of what we have accomplished.  Like a child, it truly takes a village to write a novel.

That’s all my Academy Awards-esque spiel.  Now on to the contest!

Starting on Monday, I’ll be running a contest to celebrate the release of Only Scandal Will Do.   That week it’s all about the points.  You gain points by commenting on my blog posts, on Aine Massey’s post/review and answering The Romance Review’s questions on Monday, by following my blog, following me on Twitter, liking my author page on FB and by answering questions on posts on my blog during the week.  If I’m anywhere else during the week (and I’ll let you know if I’m guesting) and you post a comment, you get points.

At the end of the week (Sunday), the three highest scores receive the following prizes:  Third place:  Scandal Swag pack; Second Place:  $15.00 GC; and First Place:  Become a Character in the third book in the Scandal series, Only A Mistress Will Do. I’ll also have Instant Prizes each day on my blog with giveaways of my other books or other swag.

Sound interesting?  Then come on by and hang out at Jenna’s Journal next week and rack up those points!

So now here’s the blurb for Scandal and after it the buy link.

Have a Super-Great Day!

Blurb for Only Scandal Will Do:

He has the woman of his dreams, but what price will he have to pay to win her heart?

Kidnapped and sold at auction in a London brothel, Lady Katarina Fitzwilliam squelches an undeniable attraction to the masked stranger who purchased her, pits her wits against him, and escapes him and the scandal that would ruin her life.

Unable to resist temptation in a London brothel, Duncan Ferrers, Marquess of Dalbury, purchases a fiery beauty. She claims she’s a lady, but how can she be? No lady of his acquaintance in polite society is anything like her. Then he discovers she is who she says, and that this latest romp has compromised her reputation. He knows how that is. One more scandal and he’ll be cast out of London society, but he needs a wife who’ll provide an heir to carry on his illustrious family’s name. He seeks out Katarina, intending only to scotch the scandal, but instead finds his heart ensnared. He’s betting their future he’ll capture her heart, but does he have what it takes to win the wager?

WARNING: A blade-wielding heroine who crosses swords with a master of sensuality.

  1. Big waa-hoo, from up here in NoVA! I’m crowing about it to anyone who’ll listen and I was first in line to buy one. I’m not great at writing reviews (not a talent I possess), but I’ll definitely take a stab at it for Scandal. Best of luck with sales!
