Welcome back to Six Sentence Sunday! I want to thank everyone, once again, for their great support each week. I do appreciate your visits and look forward to each comment with anticipation. I also look forward to visiting your sites and reading your wonderful stories.
Katarina and the masked man are back! Once again I’m following up my six from last week with the next six sentences from Only Scandal Will Do.
If you remember, Duncan has purchased a woman in a brothel auction and has come to claim his prize. His “slave” however, continues to insist there has been a mistake. He has managed to turn the tables on the “lady” and called her virtue into question. Outraged, she turned and fled, only to be stopped short by her purchaser. Now she’s opted to try to reason with the man, speaking to him in honeyed tones. Let’s see if she’s been able to persuade him to listen to her story.
Releasing her hair, the stranger grabbed her hand. “We both know how you will end up, my slave. Come.” He pulled her toward the four-poster. She dug her toes into the rough, worn carpeting. Honey be damned, she had no intention of going anywhere near that bed.
I think that was a “no.” LOL Now, how’s she going to get out of this predicament?
If you’d like to read more about Kat’s plight, check out my posts from January at Sweet Saturday Sample and come back next week for another six sentence installment.

I think she’s going to have to use more than just her toes to keep her from that bed! Fab snippet!

Definitely a “no” that I’m sure he is equally determined to change into a “yes.” Great post as always, Jenna.

Wonderful scene. I’m glad it’s in Sweet Saturday, too, so maybe their mutual persistence will pay off with some kind of sweet compromise…? I’m hooked.

I love how they’re both so persistent. The digging her toes in reminded me of how I learnt that trick in junior high, when the city bus I rode was often so full that a lot of us had to stand, and I had to figure out a way to not fall as I was standing up while the bus was moving.
