Reader’s Corner: Name Game Contest

Good Morning, Readers!  I have a little request for all of you in the Reader’s Corner today.  I have just started writing a new erotic contemporary romance, called. . .

But that’s the problem.  I’ve just been calling it “About Friday Night” because it was inspired by Katy Perry’s current hit single “Last Friday Night,” about the aftermath of a wild party.  But I need a really hot, sexy title to put with the hot book cover I’ve been given:

I just love that cover!

So I wondered if you would help me by leaving title suggestions in the comment section?  I’ll even make it sweeter by offering a copy of this book, when it’s published, to the person suggesting the title I like best, or, if you don’t want to wait that long, a copy of either of my published works.

I will tell you that this book is not currently under contract to be published, although I plan to submit it to New Dawning International Bookfair, the e-publisher who brought out my other erotic contemporary, Hog Wild, in June.  And I certainly hope it too finds a home there.

Here’s the blurb for my untitled work, to give you an idea about what’s going on to match with the above steamy photo:

Ashley is known for her outrageous parties and last Friday night was no exception.  Only this time she wakes to find a video of her in the middle of a menage a trois with her ex-boyfriend and a gorgeous stranger.  Unable to remember anything about the night, other than the hot sex she sees on the computer screen, Ashley begins a search for Mr. Hunk.  She has no luck until he unexpectedly shows up–in her shower.

Hunter Hopewell, Mr. Hunk in the flesh, would love to initiate Ash into a variety of sexual experiences he finds exciting, but fears his tastes are too wild even for her.  As the week of escalating sexual encounters intensifies, will Ashley let go of her final inhibitions and join Hunter in the promise of a truly unforgettable Friday night?

I’d love to have your suggestions and will post the winner next week in the Reader’s Corner.  Throughout the week I will post snippets of the work, again to help you put on your thinking caps.  At the end of the week, if none of the suggestions seems exactly right for the work, a contestant’s name will be drawn at random to receive a copy of one of my books.

Thank you so much for your help and please check back for updates and excerpts from the book throughout the week.

Available for purchase at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and All Romance Ebooks as well as the publisher websites.

Oh, and I thank you for all your suggestions. I need all the help I can get on this one! I probably need to get deeper into the story to know what it needs to be called. But then I can go back and look at all the great suggestions and choose one or use one as a springboard.

I do appreciate everyone’s help with this. 🙂

  4. I don’t know how “hot” this suggestion is, but it is romantic: Forever Friday. As you know, Jenna, I’m really into alliteration. Another title, though it doesn’t include the word Friday, might simply be “Fornication.” Last idea: “F*ck Me Friday” (with the star of course, a hint is good enough).

I’m sure you’ll think of something. Have a good weekend!

I like alliteration too, Patricia. 🙂 Forever Friday has a ring to it I like, although I think your last suggestion would probably sell quite a few copies! LOL I’m getting lots of great input and appreciate all the suggestions. Thanks!

I’m not very good with titles – though I do remember this from SSS…. (or am I dreaming?) The cover is sensational – you were given the cover??
I have a question about the blurb (I am struggling with my own blurb and re write it every day it seems) anyway – a friend cautioned me against using rhetorical questions in the blurb. I see you (and many others) do use that technique. Now I am totally confused. Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated

    title – outrageous

LOL I think you’re dreaming, Sue. I just wrote the first chapter the other night, so it hasn’t been on SSS…yet. A friend did the cover for me as inspiration for writing the story and boy it’s helping. I now have to live up to that steamy couple!

As for the blurb– I don’t know that there’s a hard and fast rule, but this isn’t an official blurb, so I have a little license with it. Try writing your blurb with a question if that’s easier, then turn the question into a statement. I could take mine and tweak it just a bit into: As the week of escalating sexual encounters intensifies, Ashley must make a choice: let go of her final inhibitions or give up Hunter and the promise of a truly unforgettable Friday night.

Thanks for your suggestion–outrageous certainly describes Hunter to a T!

I still think a title will pop up as you write. It could even be something a character says or does

It may very well do that, Dee. That’s happened before. I think Entangled would look good on the cover. Thanks for the list. And I’ll keep writing and playing with these. 🙂
