Welcome to Weekend Writing Warriors !
Happy December!!!
Looking forward to a merry month, I’m starting snippets from my brand new Christmas novella, The Christmas Pact, which was published last week in the Nine Ladies Dancing: Christmas in London anthology.

BLURB:
When Charlie and Henrietta were children they swore a pact that if Henrietta reached her twenty-first birthday and wasn’t married, Charlie would step in and keep her from being an old maid. They even sealed it with a kiss under the mistletoe.
Now, eleven years later, Charlie comes to London to see if Henrietta is betrothed or not and, more importantly, if she remembers their pact. What he finds is a beautiful, grown-up Henrietta, who remembers him warmly but who is also on the brink of accepting the suit of another man.
Can Charlie help her remember their promise–and that kiss–before it’s too late?
EXCERPT:
The frigid air stung Lady Henrietta Price’s cheeks, but she hardly cared as she stooped, gathered a handful of snow, and quickly shaped it into a ball. Laughing, she dodged similar missiles lobbed by the pair of young boys opposite her, firing them from behind a bench in the small park across from their London townhouse in Berkley Square. “Come on, George, you can do better than that.”
The taunt accomplished just what Henrietta had hoped, for it drew George out from behind the bench long enough for her to toss her snowball directly at his unprotected face.
Splat!
Snow exploded all over him, obscuring his expression, which Henrietta suspected was abject surprise. “Caught you out, Georgie.”
Stalwart, George scrubbed the icy mess from his face and stuck his tongue out at Henrietta. “No fair!”
“How is scoring a spectacular hit on someone during a snowball fight ‘no fair,’ Georgie?”
And a little more for good measure…
Not waiting for a reply, Henrietta dropped down again, hurriedly scooping snow together before George or, more likely Henry, could retaliate.
“Come on, George. We have to get her while she’s busy making her weapons.”
She peeked up at the pair, who were advancing on her at an alarming rate. Henrietta packed the snow as best she could, drew back her arm and flung the rather large snowball with terrific speed. Unfortunately, in her haste, her aim was badly off.
The snowball sailed past the boys, over the wrought iron fence that surrounded the park, and hit the tall black hat of a gentleman passing by.

Don’t forget to check out the rest of the Warriors here. There are some fantastic snippets to be read.

My Christmas Novels and Novellas

“Lady Letitia, I am certain you’re fit to drop right now,” he cut his gaze at her partner, who seemed annoyed at the intrusion, “but might I ask you for the supper dance? I believe there will be sufficient time for you to recover, should you need to.”

Drat! Caught like a mouse in a trap. Letitia looked from Mr. Symmons, with whom she wanted to stand up, to Lord Kettering, with whom she now must dance, to Aunt Alexandra, who was shooting daggers at her from coal black eyes. Letitia sighed. If she had her wish, she’d be in bed alongside her sisters right now.
