That’s right, I’m being Wicked After Dark–and every other time of day in my newest release, 7 Days of Seduction.

Ashley Thompson had a wild time at her party last Friday night. Maybe too wild. She wakes to find a video of her in the middle of a ménage a trois with her ex-boyfriend and a gorgeous stranger. Unable to remember anything about the night, other than the hot sex she sees on the computer screen, Ashley begins a search for Mr. Hunk. She has no luck until he unexpectedly shows up–in her shower.

Hunter Hopewell intends to introduce Ash to a variety of sexual experiences he finds fun and exciting. He proposes a week long series of “colorful” encounters designed to seduce Ashley out of her kink comfort zone.

As their week of escalating pleasure intensifies, Ashley must choose to let go of her inhibitions or risk losing the best damn lover she’s ever had.

Excerpt for 7 Days of Seduction:

She glanced at the screen that showed her dimly lit bedroom, the bed and two figures, obviously engaged in fellatio. Sam lay at the end of the bed with his legs over the edge, knees wide apart. Ash knelt between them, her head moving up and down slowly, engulfing his dick to the hilt as she always did. “So? After all this time, you want to discuss my technique?”

“Wait. Let me move it forward.” He manipulated the touchpad and a new image appeared.

Ash stared at the screen, wincing as she tilted her head back and forth, trying to understand the images on the screen. She turned to Sam, met his puzzled eyes then blurted out, “Who the hell is that guy with his dick in my pussy?”

Sam’s head snapped toward her, eyes wide.

“I don’t know. I figured you knew him. You mean you don’t?” His gaze slid back to the screen to stare at the serious pumping action going on.

“Stop that.” Ash pushed the laptop’s screen closed.

“What are you doing?” Sam scrambled to open the computer, but Ashley swatted his hands away.

“You are not going to watch that guy screw me. I’m not putting on a show.”

“I’m part of that show, too. That’s my dick in your mouth, in case you didn’t notice.” Sam’s eyes lit up and his voice took on a reverential tone. “It’s a ménage a trois. And I caught it on tape.”

Ashley groaned and dropped her head back into her hands. “Why can’t I remember anything?”

“Because you drank about a quart of tequila last night. I’m surprised you’re conscious now.”

“I was celebrating my promotion. Can you blame me for getting a little wasted?”

Sam’s hand stole back to the computer case and Ash slapped at it.

“You are not going to watch…Shit.” Ashley’s fingers fumbled as she tried to flip the lid open again. “Help me.”

“I thought you didn’t want me to watch the Last Tango on Parker Road.”

“Did you notice if he wore a condom?”

“Shit.” Sam shook his head. He opened the computer and his fingers flew over the keyboard. “I’ll back it up to where he…Oh. I guess that answers your question.”

“What? Back it up to where he came in. Did he put it on on-camera? Why did you stop?” Ashley poked the hands that lay motionless on the keys.

“Unless the guy’s dick was transplanted from a Smurf, he’s wearing a condom.” Sam pointed to the screen, frozen mid-stroke as the mystery guy pulled out of her pussy. She followed Sam’s finger to the big, bright blue cock protruding from between her legs and nodded. Glad the guy liked color in his sex. One crisis averted. Now, who the hell was he?

Don’t forget to leave a comment for the chance to win a copy of one of the following books too:

Blurb for Almost Perfect:

Pamela Kimball’s birthday present, a 1Night Stand adventure, promises to jump-start her life, put a new man in her bed, and help her forget her past.  Unfortunately, movie-buff Pam’s Pirates of the Caribbean fantasy takes an alarming wrong turn when she’s abandoned on a not quite deserted island—with ex-husband Roger Ware.

Forced by hunger to accept Roger’s offer of dinner,  Pam realizes the geek she married has transformed into one of the most charming, sexiest men she’s ever met. His newfound confidence—and hot body—re-kindle old fires.  A simple kiss leads Roger to challenge her to discover how much his lovemaking skills have improved, leaving Pam torn between self-preservation and burning desire.

With time running out before they’re rescued, Pam must decide if her heart can survive the consequences of becoming Roger’s “almost” perfect 1Night Stand.

Blurb for Hog Wild:

When Lula Wolfendale’s motorcycle breaks down on her way to a Harley rally, she detours into tiny Shoshone, CA to find a new ride.  Seducing bikers Beau and Rob Hogue and commandeering their Harleys is easy; finding sexual satisfaction is a “hog” of a different color.  A Blue Phantom, to be exact, owned by the pair’s older brother, Jesse.  After brief, unsatisfying encounters with the first two Hogues, Lula approaches Jesse with a proposition:  a sexual contest for his Phantom, where Lula will emerge with either a bike to die for or the climax of her dreams.  Or can she possibly obtain both?

Now on to the fun and games! Ashley and same are watching a candid video of the good time they had Friday night–with a new friend.  Remember, Ashley remembers nothing of that night!

The guy’s hands traveled down her back and cupped her ass, squeezed it in turn as his lips fastened on her right breast. Her pussy flooded with moisture; too late she remembered she hadn’t put on panties, so the tee-shirt was going to get wet. Make that soaked.

Spotlight: Interview With A Jewish Vampire by Erica Manfred

“Interview with a Jewish Vampire turns vampire lore on its head, proving that not all vampires are young and beautiful and it IS possible to be undead and kosher.”

Blurb for Interview With A Jewish Vampire:

The last thing 40ish Rhoda Ginsberg expected when she signed up for Jdate was to fall for a Jewish vampire. But when she meets gorgeous but undead Sheldon, a former Hasidic rabbi, she rationalizes that he may be not be alive, but at least he’s Jewish. In a wild romp that ranges from New York City to Century Village, Florida, they conspire to turn a bunch of little old Jewish ladies into vampires, who then “go rogue” and prey on the young.

About the Author:

Erica Manfred is a freelance journalist, humorous essayist, and author. Her most recent book is the novel, Interview with a Jewish Vampire. She’s also authored two non-fiction self-help books, including most recently He’s History You’re Not; Surviving Divorce After Forty. Her articles and essays have appeared in Cosmopolitan, The New York Times Magazine, Ms., New Age Journal, Village Voice, Woman’s Day, SELF, Ladies Home Journal, and many other publications. Erica lives in Woodstock, New York with her Chihuahua, Shadow, and her daughter, Freda. Brought up by Jewish parents who spoke Yiddish but avoided religion, she got her Jewish education at the Woodstock Jewish Congregation which welcomes Jews from all backgrounds, from atheist to Orthodox, to vampire. Her website is http://www.ericamanfred.com, or visit http://www.jewishvampire.com

Excerpt for Interview With A Jewish Vampire:

“I would like to tell the story of my life.” He leaned forward and gave me such an intense look I had to turn away. “Would you be willing to interview me?”

No, I wasn’t interested in the story of his life. I was interested in getting to know him in a more biblical sense. I figured he was just another narcissistic celebrity wannabe. As a writer I was constantly getting hit on–not by attractive men–but by people who thought their lives were so fascinating they would make surefire bestseller material. All they thought they needed was a writer to tell their story which, of course, I would be thrilled to do on spec because they didn’t have any money. None of them realized that writers are not charitable institutions.

“You will want to write my story,” he said urgently, “You’ve never heard anything like it before. It will make you rich and famous.”

“Sure, sure. So what’s so special about your story?” I asked wearily, disappointed that he was only interested in my writing skills, not my body.

“I’m a vampire,” he said matter-of-factly.

“Sure, and I’m the Queen of the Damned.”

“What will convince you?” he asked.

“Hmm. Hold on a minute,” I said, playing along. I dragged a cross out of my purse, which I happened to have because I’d visited St. Patrick’s Cathedral with my niece earlier that day and got one for free. I held it up in front of him.

“I’m a Jewish vampire. Doesn’t do a thing for me.”

“How about a Jewish star?”

“Don’t be silly, only Christians are afraid of the devil.”

I dragged out a mirror and held it in front of his face. No reflection. He said Ah and the mirror didn’t fog up. When he opened his mouth I saw that his long incisors were, in fact, fangs. I shrank back, not thrilled about the notion of becoming dinner.

Erica, this sounds like a fun read for the Halloween season!

Six Sentence Sunday–10/21/12 Time Enough To Love: Betrothal ~ “Excellent Sport “

Happy Sunday! For my Six Sentence Sunday post today, I’m continuing with my medieval WIP  Betrothal, about to go into edits!   And I’m picking up where we left off with Sweet Saturday Sample yesterday. You can read that post here.

Lady Alyse de Courcy is a waiting gentlewoman to Princess Joanna, youngest daughter of King Edward.   Alyse is less than happy with her arranged marriage to Geoffrey Longford, a knight in the king’s service, and is infatuated instead with his best friend, Thomas, Lord Brayton.

This scene occurs the night after the betrothal. Geoffrey has drawn Alyse over to his table, hoping to talk to her in private.   His group of friends, led by Thomas, attempt to make sport of the couple. Thomas makes the suggestion (in jest) that Alyse should know him before she is wed.  Geoffrey, piqued that Alyse still shows an interest in his friend, asks her to answer the lewd statement. But when she acquits herself credibly in wordplay, she draws Geoffrey’s ire because she will not banter with him.  In trying to extricate herself from one predicament, Alyse instead lands smack into the fire by declaring “Nay, my lord, I would deny you no pleasure.”

Geoffrey’s bench thumped down on the rush-strewn floor, his blood heating at the import of her words.

“Indeed, my lady, shall we retire at once to my chamber?” He tried to restrain a lecherous grin as he watched her fight to recall those words. She was proving excellent sport in her attempts to placate him.

“My lord, I did not mean…”

“Did you not, my sweet?” he whispered, leaning toward her, tempted to try to steal a kiss in the confusion.

Will temptation get the better of him? LOL

Thanks so much for visiting me today.  If you get a chance, Betrothal‘s cover is in a contest at Danielle Fine’s website and I’d appreciate your vote if you haven’t already. 🙂 You could win a cover too!

Now pop over to the Six Sentence Sunday list and check out the rest of the snippets.  See you there!

Sweet Saturday Sample: 10/20/12 Time Enough To Love–Betrothal: “A Scholar and A Wit”

Welcome back to Sweet Saturday Sample!  All excerpts here are rated PG-13 or milder. Here’s another post from my new WIP, my medieval trilogy Time Enough To Love.

Part 1 is called Betrothal and I’m so excited!  I still have a tentative release date of late-October, and I will keep you informed.

The series is set in England and France in 1348.  Betrothal takes place at the court of King Edward III.

This excerpt is UNEDITED.  Please be kind.

Lady Alyse de Courcy is a waiting gentlewoman to Princess Joanna, youngest daughter of King Edward.  After receiving the news that the new courtier, Sir Geoffrey Longford, is her betrothed, a dazed Alyse is less than happy with her arranged marriage.   I’m skipping ahead to the following night, at dinner, Geoffrey has drawn Alyse over to his table, hoping to talk to her in private.  He is met, however, with his group of friends, led by Thomas who think to make sport of the couple.  Thomas makes the suggestion (in jest) that Alyse should know him before she is wed.  Geoffrey, piqued that Alyse still shows an interest in his friend, gives her leave to answer the lewd statement. But when she acquits herself credibly in wordplay, she draws Geoffrey’s ire–and something else.

I continued this excerpt in Six Sentence Sunday last week which you can read here.  And we continue on:

“I presume from your sharp repartee with Thomas, that you are both a scholar and a wit?” His mocking tone surprised him, a reaction, he supposed, to the unexpected skill she had shown in her use of language. He scowled, assailed by unbidden jealousy at the remembrance of Thomas’s kiss on her hand, although he knew such feelings were madness. His friend’s attentions were the courtly fashion, a game Geoffrey knew he played exceedingly well.

“Lady Alyse?” She had taken so long to reply Geoffrey had to ask again. “Do you attend me, my lady?”

The maid seemed to shake herself from a reverie and turned cautious eyes towards him. “Aye, my lord, I beg your pardon for not attending. . . my mind had. . . I am sorry, my lord.” She peered at him, pitiful and confused. “What did you ask of me?”

Geoffrey snorted. “I think I have my answer, lady, yet I will ask again. Are you both a scholar and a wit?”

Alyse ventured a small smile. “’Tis hard to answer yea, my lord, having just proved my lack of wits to you. Yet I have some pretense to both charges when I am hard pressed, as you heard before with Lord Brayton.”

“Yes, you did acquit yourself admirably with Thomas.” That exchange still sat ill with him.  “But you do not care to trade banter with me, lady? Our conversations so far have not shown me your great skills in wordplay. Would you deny me this pleasure with you?”

“Nay, my lord, I would deny you no pleasure.” Alyse stopped and clapped her hand over her mouth, her eyes widening in horror. Her face deepened to a brilliant shade of scarlet as she realized the import of her unthinking words.

I hope you enjoyed this latest sample from  Time Enough to Love.  Stop by SSS tomorrow for more six sentences from Betrothal.   And today be sure to click here to visit more Sweet Samples.

Wicked Romance Blog Hop

I’m being wicked, playing along with a second blog hop this week.  So If you’re looking for the Alpha Male Blog Hop, click the link and hop on!

Now for some Wicked Romance!

This hop asks me to giveaway a “wicked” romance.  Not wicked as in “naughty,” although it may very well be that too!  But this meaning of wicked is something you’re excited about, something that’s cool and good and great!

And that pretty much describes my historical novel Only Scandal Will Do.  Here’s the blurb so you can see for yourself:

Kidnapped and sold at auction in a London brothel, Lady Katarina Fitzwilliam squelches an undeniable attraction to the masked stranger who purchased her, pits her wits against him, and escapes him and the scandal that would ruin her life.

Unable to resist temptation in a London brothel, Duncan Ferrers, Marquess of Dalbury, purchases a fiery beauty. She claims she’s a lady, but how can she be? No lady of his acquaintance in polite society is anything like her. Then he discovers she is who she says, and that this latest romp has compromised her reputation. He knows how that is. One more scandal and he’ll be cast out of London society, but he needs a wife who’ll provide an heir to carry on his illustrious family’s name. He seeks out Katarina, intending only to scotch the scandal, but instead finds his heart ensnared. He’s betting their future he’ll capture her heart, but does he have what it takes to win the wager?

WARNING: A blade-wielding heroine who crosses swords with a master of sensuality.

So my “wicked” romance giveaway is an e-copy of Only Scandal Will Do.  To enter to win either a copy of the book (1 commenter)  or a Scandal Swag Pack (2 commenters) leave me a comment on my blog telling me what’s the most wicked romance novel you’ve read.  And be sure to leave me an email address so I can contact you about your prize!  Winners will be announced on my blog on October 31!

Here’s an excerpt, just to give you a taste.  Wicked, I know. LOL

Excerpt from Only Scandal Will Do

Katarina clutched the chair’s golden upholstery to keep from launching herself at him and wrapping her fingers around his arrogant throat. “I am Lady Katarina Fitzwilliam, sister to the Earl of Manning. I was kidnapped and brought here tonight against my will.”

He cocked his head. Then his mouth twitched. “Truly? What an exciting life you must lead…Lady Katarina, was it?” He chuckled deep in his chest, and took a step toward the chair.

She glared at him. “I am Lady Katarina Fitzwilliam, you dullard.”

“And true ladies always run around London at night scandalously underdressed as Greek slaves?”

“My brother and I were on our way to a masquerade ball when I was abducted.”

“As was I, fair lady,” he bowed with an exaggerated flourish, “when I decided to come to this charming establishment instead. Perhaps if we had continued on our ways uninterrupted, we would even now be dancing together at the ball.” That nasty laugh grated against her nerves worse than the screech of rusty nails, making her contemplate murder. If the scoundrel didn’t believe her story, killing him might be her only means of escape.

Available now at Amazon, B & N, Lyrical Press.

Get Your Hottie Here–The Alpha Male Bloghop

If you’ve come looking for some hot guys, you’ve come to the right place.  Welcome to the Alpha Male Blog Hop, where the guys are all hard, hot, handsome heroes.

Don’t we love our Alphas?  The more commanding the better.  Men who know what they want and then claim it.  A dominant man is possibly the sexiest thing on earth–think Brad Pitt, Don Draper, Daniel Craig, Russell Crowe.  If you’re old school–Sean Connery, Clark Gable, Daniel Day Lewis, Mel Gibson.  What used to be called a “man’s man.”  Makes my mouth water just thinking about them. 🙂

An alpha commands respect from both males and females. He exudes confidence.  He is a problem-solver-usually with fists or weapons, but just as often with his intelligence.  He may be brooding or brash, violent or tender, cunning or courageous.  But in the end, men will follow him without question and women will beg for his touch.  A hero for all time.

Let me introduce you to some of my Alpha Males, the heroes of three of my books:

Duncan Ferrers, the Marquess of Dalbury from Only Scandal Will Do.  Duncan is a rake of the first order, with a string of conquests and mistresses.  He’s a skilled swordsman, having fought several duels and killing two men in the process.  The air of command sits easily on his shoulders.  No one dares deny him anything.

Until he meets Lady Katarina Fitzwilliam who denies him everything:  her body, her respect, her heart.  When Alpha Male meets Alpha Female, the sparks fly as fast as their swords.

Only Scandal Will Do is available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, ARe, and Lyrical Press.

In Betrothal, Sir Geoffrey Longford, a knight in the service of King Edward III of England, is a strong warrior.  He’s seen battle often, fighting in the Hundred Year’s War or jousting for a heavy purse.  Whatever the venue, Geoffrey’s skills with a sword have kept him safe and well provided.  A born leader of men, he’s looked up to by other, more elevated nobles.  He’s made a career of avoiding feminine entanglements–he wenches lustily with the best of them, but seeks no permanent attachment.

Enter Lady Alyse de Courcey, a waiting gentlewoman to the king’s daughter, and the woman his father has arranged for him to marry.  Geoffrey’s smitten by the beautiful maid from their first meeting.  But Lady Alyse has eyes only for another courtier.  He must bring to bear all his charm and skill–both as warrior and ardent suitor–to win the lady’s heart without killing his best friend into the bargain.

Betrothal, Book One of Time Enough to Love, is set to release from Rising Phoenix Publications in late October.

And my final Alpha, Hunter Hopewell, is the mastermind of 7 Days of Seduction.  He’s a law student at California Berkeley, a man with a past, and one who knows what he wants in life.  Her name is Ashley Thompson, a former student at Berkeley whose luscious body attracts Hunter like a lion to its prey.  When he sees her potential for experimentation, he sweeps her off her feet (literally) and proposes an outrageous week of sexual adventure.  Looking at Hunter’s gorgeous physique but unable to remember their first encounter, Ashley agrees to let him seduce her with sex.  The question is, will she follow everywhere Hunter leads her?

7 Days of Seduction is set to release in late October from New Dawning International Bookfair.

And now for the Prize Packages for The Alpha Male Blog Hop:

Starting on Friday, October 19 and ending on Monday, Oct 22nd, over 200 Authors and Bloggers will be doing individual giveaways!  That’s right!  In this blog hop there will be over 200 giveaways, one on each blog hosted by that Author or Blogger.

7 Days of Seduction–Inspiration in a Playlist

I am Happy Dancing!  I just finished final edits for my erotic contemporary 7 Days of Seduction and sent them off!

What a long, strange trip it’s been.  With a lot more music for my playlist than I usually get.

I began this story over a year ago, last August, when I kept hearing Katie Perry’s “Last Friday Night” on the radio all the time.  Loved the beat, loved the idea of an out of control party that comes back to bite the girl in the butt. (Her video is so what I envisioned!)  So I started thinking about how many of the ideas in the lyrics I could incorporate into a story that starts with a girl waking up in bed with a guy and she can’t remember a thing about the party the night before.  Except what her ex-boyfriend caught on tape.  And that’s an eye full.

As I began to write the first chapter, the girl wakes up to the pounding beat of a song on the radio.  Last year I just loved Niki Menaj’s “Super Bass,”  so that’s the song I always envision on Ashley’s radio.

And then Lady Gaga came out with “Edge of Glory” which just about described Ashley and Hunter’s relationship:  “I need a man who thinks it’s right when it’s all wrong.”  And “It’s time to feel the rush/To push the dangerous/I’m gonna run back to,/To the edge with you/Where we can both fall over in love.”  Hunter is one who pushes the envelope a bit. 🙂

In keeping with Hunter’s “bad boy” persona, The Cab’s “Bad” speaks perfectly to his feelings.  “I want a bad girl, baby, bad/I want a love that’s crazy, yeah/I want a bad girl, baby bad!”  And with a little “colorful” encouragement, he thinks Ashley can be “bad” too.

I’m not sure when 7 Days of Seduction will be releasing yet, but I’ll keep you informed!  I’m hoping it will be out before the end of October.  Can’t wait to share more of it with you.  Here’s the blurb and an excerpt.  Enjoy!  And anticipate! 🙂

Blurb for 7 Days of Seduction:

Ashley is known for her outrageous parties and last Friday night was no exception.  Except she wakes to find a video of her in the middle of a menage-a-trois with a close friend and a gorgeous stranger.  Unable to remember anything about the night, other than the hot sex she sees on the computer screen, Ashley begins a search for Mr. Hunk.  She has no luck until he unexpectedly shows up–in her shower.

Hunter Hopewell would love to initiate Ash into a variety of sexual experiences he finds exciting.  He proposes a week of sexual experimentation designed to awaken Ashley’s desire for the “colorful,” and him.  But are his tastes too wild even for her?

Excerpt from 7 Days of Seduction:

The bathroom door opened and closed. Her hands froze.

“Damn it, Sam. Why is it every time I take a shower you have to pee? Couldn’t you just hold it for once? Or pee in a cup, for God’s sake?”

“I’m not Sam. And I don’t have to pee.”

Ashley’s eyes popped open and the bottle of body wash hit the tub with a loud thunk. The husky voice she’d heard on yesterday’s video and in this morning’s dream was richer in person. Sexier. Her heart took off like a deer after a shotgun blast. She peered at the shower door, seeing only a shadowy figure through the opaque glass. Well thank, God, for that. He couldn’t see her either.

“Hello? Are you there, Ash?” The amusement in his tone brought her back to earth.

“Yeah, I’m here. And just who the hell are you?”

“I’m Hunter Hopewell. Sorry we didn’t really get introduced the other night.”

“No shit.” Damn. The all-important name meant nothing. The spray from the shower roared in her ears and Ashley took a step toward the shower door.

“So who are you? I mean, you say Hunter Hopewell, but I don’t know you. And you know me.”

“Yes, I do. I’ve never met you, but I’ve been interested in you for a while now.”

Despite the hot water, chills raced over her body, standing her hair on end. Oh, my God. A stalker. I’ve attracted a stalker. And I’m shut in a bathroom with him. Suddenly, she couldn’t breathe.

Does music inspire your writing?  What kinds do you listen to when you write or read?

All Wrapped Up for Horny Hump Day 10/17/12

WARNING:  MATERIAL NOT SUITABLE FOR THOSE UNDER THE AGE OF 18!

NOT SAFE FOR WORK!

Participating authors in Horny Hump Day post three sentences from their published works or WIP, hot like a firecracker! LOL

I’m changing it up this week by trying to get you into the Christmas spirit already.  So I’m going to my Christmas Collection, All Wrapped Up, released just in time for the holidays last year.  This nibble is from a contemporary story, set in a college, where a guy is trying to tell a girl singer in his choir that they’re firing her.  The problem is, she’s got something else on her mind.  Here’s Chase and Lauren from “Sing A Christmas Carol.”

© Yanc | Stock Free Images & Dreamstime Stock Photos

She stroked his tongue, caressed and teased it until Chase thrust it into her mouth in retaliation. A warm hum from her throat was the only warning he had before she began to suck it, in slow, rhythmic pulses that seemed to reach straight down to his groin.  Her hand captured one of his and guided it under her robe, to the crest of her nipple, hard and pebbled beneath his fingertips.

Now Chase, what were you saying about getting rid of her?

Please check out the Horny Hump Day blog site for the other sites on the hop and go visit the other hot authors.   The site also gives the details of how to sign up for next week if you’d like to play with us. 🙂

Thanks so much for visiting the Journal once more for Horny Hump Day.

All Wrapped Up is available for purchase on Amazon and Barnes & Noble for 99 cents!  Happy Holidays!
