Welcome back to the Weekend Writing Warriors again. I’m so enjoying seeing my old friends and finding new authors. Hope you all have a great hop!
Today you get more from Betrothal, my medieval romance set in the 14th century. In this snippet, a continuation of yesterday’s Sweet Saturday Sample, Alyse and Geoffrey have stormed off after their quarrel. Geoffrey is heading back to the source of the trouble.
By the time Geoffrey returned to the reception room, Thomas had moved closer to the door in anticipation of the king’s customary afternoon ride. His entrance drew no one’s attention as the courtiers were milling about, waiting for the king to rise. He took the opportunity of the unguarded moment to seize his friend’s tunic and shove him out the chamber door.
“Geoffrey! Have you lost your senses? What are you doing?” Thomas grasped his arms, tried to break his hold, but to no avail.
Geoffrey bore him into the corridor and threw him unceremoniously into the far wall.
If you want more, please come back next week! 🙂 Right now, you can click here to hop on to more Writing Warrior posts! And thanks for coming by!

Things appear to be coming to a head between those two. I could picture the scene clearly… well done.

About time he took care of Thomas!

I wonder if Thomas really doesn’t know the damage he’s done. Men can be so clueless. Nice to see Geoffrey taking the situation seriously though. He does care!

It’s easy to picture this, you’ve written it so well. Geoffrey ought to take his pound of flesh from his trouble-making friend. Thomas is going to have to learn to mind his own business a bit more.

Love this 8. Well done Geoffrey. Thomas’ reaction was amusing, too 🙂
